Presentation

History of fall with trauma to the left hand. Swelling and tenderness over the base of 1st metacarpal bone/thenar eminence with painful thumb movements.

Good healing is noted in the previously noted Bennett fracture. Thumb spica cast is seen in place. 

Case Discussion

Bennett fracture is a two-part intra-articular fracture of the base of first metacarpal bone. 

This was treated with thumb spica cast for 6 weeks.
