Right posterior ankle region pain. The patient was referred for an ultrasound of the Achilles tendon evaluation.

There is diffuse thickening of the Achilles tendon soft tissue shadow. The Kager fat pad is normal. There is minimal Achilles tendon enthesopathy.

There is diffuse thickening of Achilles tendon. The anterior surface of tendon show convexity anteriorly. There is no tendon tear/calcification.
There is no peritendon fluid. Increased echogenicity of Kager's fat pad.
Case Discussion
Findings favor Achilles tendinosis without tendon tear.
