Info

The MRI sequences demonstrate a fusiform enlargement of the Achilles tendon with disruption of its deep portion at the critical zone with edema and hemorrhage as well as edema in Kager fat pad.
There is also moderate thickening with increased signal of the distal end of the Achilles tendon with probable calcification as well as bone marrow edema consistent with enthesopathy.
The plantaris tendon remains intact.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a chronic partial Achilles tendon tear with enthesopathy.
