Diffuse circumferential small-bowel wall (mostly mid-jejunal) thickening with mesenteric edema and minimal free fluid. The proximal SMA starting from its aortic origin is totally occluded for about 23 mm denoting vascular thrombus.
Abnormal localized no enhancement (thrombosis) localized to the left of the aortic lumen below the renal artery origins extend for about 27 mm cranio-caudally.
Multiple small retroperitoneal lymph nodes are also noted.
Case Discussion
Arterial occlusive mesenteric ischemia is the most common type of mesenteric ischemia.
