Acute submandibular sialadenitis secondary to ductal stone

Recurrent pain and swelling in the right side of the neck.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Enhancing, enlarged right submandibular gland secondary to stone in the ductal papilla. The right submandibular duct (passing between mylohyoid and hyoglossus) is dilated. Note the density of the opposite normal submandibular gland is near muscle density.
