Large ankle joint effusion, but no fracture.
Case Discussion
Similar to the elbow, the fat pads around the ankle joint (anteriorly and posteriorly) are displaced by the soft-tissue density. In most cases, the ankle joint effusion is most clearly demonstrated anteriorly.
