Mild ectatic dilatation of the thoracic aorta. The non-contrast phase demonstrates crescentic intramural hyperdensity within the arch and proximal descending aorta, in keeping with intramural hematoma. This corresponds to severely irregular and ulcerated atheroma on the angiographic phase.
