Cesarean section scar ectopic

Presentation

Pelvic pain and PV bleeding, known pregnancy ~8 weeks

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

The uterus is retroverted with a single live intrauterine pregnancy.

The gestational sac is located in the lower uterine segment and demonstrates small extension into the cesarean scar. 

The gestational sac does not slide on probe pressure.

The CRL measures 12.5mm with a mean sac diameter of 37mm (7w2d).

The fetal heart rate measures approximately 140bpm.

Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancies are very uncommon, often considered the rarest type of ectopic pregnancy.
