The midfoot and hindfoot are deformed, with associated dislocation, osseous destruction, debris, dense subchondral bone, and disorganized callous formation. The bones are osteopenic.
Case Discussion
The '6 D' findings on the X-rays and the patient's history of diabetes are diagnostic of a Charcot foot.
The patient was referred to the orthopedic team for consideration of reconstructive surgery.
