Long history of progressive knee pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Male

Chondrocalcinosis in the form calcification of the patellar articular hyaline cartilage and both menisci of the right knee joint is seen together with tricompartmental 2ry osteoarthritic changes, predominantly at the patellofemoral compartment.

Case Discussion

Calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease (CPPD) is the 1st possibility in this case considering the 2ry osteoarthritic changes and patient's age. However, further laboratory investigation was advised to reach a final diagnosis.
