A large mass arising from, and partially destroying, the clivus is noted with spicules of calcification within it. It is located in the midline.

Arising from the clivus is a large mass that markedly compresses and distorts the brain stem. It is of low T1 and very T2 signal with heterogeneous enhancement.

This child went on to have surgery that histologically confirmed the diagnosis of chordoma.
