Shoulder and clavicle radiographs revealed an extra-articular displaced proximal (medial) third clavicle fracture.
The fracture can be classified as a Robinson type 1B1: medial fifth displaced extra-articular fracture.
Case Discussion
Proximal third clavicle fractures (or medial clavicle fractures) are the least common type of clavicle fracture and are much rarer than midshaft ones.
Alike its midshaft counterpart, distal third fractures oftentimes will not require operative treatment.
