Case contributed by Mohammad Taghi Niknejad
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Work up for chronic constipation.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Male

Dolichocolon is present, and the sigmoid colon is redundant. Multiple small outpouchings are seen at the sigmoid colon consistent with diverticulosis.

No pathologic stricture and no mass are observed at the colon.

Case Discussion

Both single and double contrast barium enemas can demonstrate diverticula as barium-filled outpouchings. Notice that when diverticula see 'en face,' they can look similar to polyps.
