Ovoid cyst which matches CSF signal at the conus completely filling the spinal canal over a 3.5cm length. The cauda equina roots are displaced peripherally around the lesion with complete effacement of CSF. Bilateral renal pelvis dilatation, likely secondary to neurogenic bladder.
Case Discussion
Cyst of the conus medullaris presenting with neurogenic bladder in a 60 year old woman. This can go by several other names such as persistence (or cystic dilatation) of the ventriculus terminalis or 5th ventricle.
