Case contributed by Mohammad Taghi Niknejad
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Work up for knee pain. Incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

A partially calcified lesion is noted in the proximal metaphysis of the tibia. There is no evidence of endosteal scalloping and no cortical destruction. No periosteal reaction and no pathologic fracture could be seen.

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with an enchondroma, a relatively common intramedullary cartilage neoplasm with benign imaging features.

If the lesion is entirely consistent with an enchondroma with no concerning features, then it can be classified as Bone-RADS 1.
