F. P. Weber syndrome

Case contributed by Dr Roberto Schubert

Known arteriovenous dysplasia of the right upper leg. History of repeated vascular surgery since childhood.

Patient Data

Age: 45
Gender: Female

Tangled meandering vessels in the right anterior femoral region, that enhance at the same time or shortly after the main artery. Precocious enhancement of the femoral veins, capillary blush and venous pooling on late acquisitions.

Case Discussion

The eponymous denominator F. P. Weber syndrome was formerly used for combined congenital vascular malformations with predominating arteriovenous shunts. Today, this type of CVM would be more accurately described using the Hamburg classification.
