Presentation
Left shoulder recurrent anterior dislocation in judo athlete.
Patient Data
MR arthrogram left shoulder
On the coronal images, the inferior glenohumeral ligament is torn at the glenoid insertion with extra-articular contrast leakage.
The inferior glenohumeral ligament is lax and edematous and it has a “J” configuration in the opposite direction of a HAGL lesion.
Case Discussion
Glenoid avulsion of the glenohumeral ligament (GAGL) is the avulsion of the inferior glenohumeral ligament (IGHL) from its glenoid insertion.
It can lead to traumatic anterior shoulder instability.
GAGL most often results from anterior shoulder dislocation due to forced hyperabduction and external rotation of the arm.
