Histopathology report of the ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of the left thyroid lobe nodule.

Case Discussion

Average size thyroid gland with diffusely heterogenous parenchymal echotexture, suggestive of thyroiditis (likely Hashimoto's thyroiditis). Small well-defined hyperechoic nodule in the left lobe, which is of low suspicion for malignancy according to the ATA guidelines for assessment of thyroid nodules. US-guided FNAC of this nodule showed Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
