Info

Lymphangiogram shows opacification of the thoracic duct with flow of contrast into the left brachiocephalic vein. Contrast is present in a left supraclavicular lymph node.
Case Discussion
This case shows how abdominal cancers may spread to left supraclavicular lymph nodes. The thoracic duct drains into the systemic venous circulation at the venous angle, the confluence of the left internal jugular and subclavian veins. Cancer cells, often from abdominal malignancies, may "leak" out of the lymph at this location and be taken up by left supraclavicular nodes.
