Presentation
Bilateral loin pain and dysuria
Patient Data

Normal CT appearance and anatomical location of the median umbilical ligament (obliterated urachus) extending from the dome of the urinary bladder to the umbilicus in the space of Retzius between the anterior abdominal wall and parietal peritoneum.
Small fat containing right inguinal hernia was also noted.
Case Discussion
During fetal life, the urachus connects the dome of the urinary bladder to the umbilical cord being located in the space of Retzius between the anterior abdominal wall and the parietal peritoneum.
After birth, it obliterates and becomes a vestigial structure called the median umbilical ligament.
