Normal lenticular region of overlap between the humerus and the glenoid as outlined by the dotted line.
Case Discussion
On the normal AP x-ray of the shoulder, there is a normal lenticular region of overlap between the humerus and the glenoid. Loss of this is one of the signs of posterior shoulder dislocation and is known by the cumbersome name of the loss of normal half-moon overlap sign.
