Chronic left loin pain.

Age: 20 years

Compression of the left renal vein between the superior mesenteric artery and aorta.

Case Discussion

The CT findings are consistent with nutcracker syndrome. Its common clinical presentation is intermittent microscopic hematuria, repeated attack of gross hematuria as well as left loin pain as in the presentation of this case. Renal vein thrombosis is one the more serious complications.
