There is an ossicle just below the left L4 articular process which is known as Oppenheimer’s ossicle.   

Common hepatic artery is arising directly from the abdominal aorta – variant hepatic arterial anatomy.

Case Discussion

Oppenheimer ossicles are usually seen in lumbar spine. They are usually asymptomatic and discovered incidentally.

Usually, the common hepatic artery is one of three branches of the celiac artery. In this case, the CHA is arising from the abdominal aorta which is a rare anatomical variant (2 %).
