Presentation
Right hip pain, intermittent but sharp pain. Avid cricket fan, plays regularly.
Patient Data

Axial oblique images of the right hip reveal a discrete linear fluid signal suggesting labrochondral dissociation with a small 6 mm anterior paralabral cyst.
Axial oblique images of the left hip reveal mildly hyperintense focal signal at the undersurface of the anterosuperior labrum. No significant abnormality.
Case Discussion
Non-arthrographic MRI study of right hip reveals anterosuperior acetabular labral tear with a small paralabral cyst. Findings confirmed on arthroscopy.
Since there seems little evidence to suggest femoro-acetabular impingement or developmentally dysplastic hips, the likely aetiology is overuse.
