Sinus tract in the intergluteal region in subcutaneous fat planes. External opening is seen just to the right of midline at the level of inferior aspect of last coccygeal vertebra. The tract traverses anteriorly and inferiorly and ends blindly in subcutaneous fat planes. Mild surrounding inflammatory fat stranding is seen. 

No obvious osteitis is seen in present scan.

Irregular hyperintensity is seen in the left gluteal region – possibly related to I.M. injection.

Case Discussion

Sinus tract in the intergluteal region in subcutaneous fat planes with external opening just to the right of midline at the level of inferior aspect of last coccygeal vertebra. The tract traverses anteriorly and inferiorly and ends blindly in subcutaneous fat planes. Mild surrounding inflammatory fat stranding.

Findings are suggestive of pilonidal sinus.
