  • sinus tract in the intergluteal region in subcutaneous fat plane
  • external opening is seen just to the right of the mid-line at the level of the fifth sacral vertebrae
  • the tract traverses anteriorly and inferiorly and ends blindly at the level of the third coccygeal segment
  • no obvious osteitis in the sacrococcygeal region
