Enhanced cervical CT, which shows an oval mass, homogeneous, smooth edges, denser than normal parotid gland that surrounds it.
Case Discussion
A pleomorphic adenoma, formerly also called benign mixed tumor by some authors, is the most common benign tumor of the salivary glands. it is based almost entirely on a myoepithelial cell proliferation by a broad spectrum of components of epithelial and mesenchymal tissue. One of its most important features is that it is surrounded by a fibrous capsule, allowing us to differentiate it from a possible malignancy.
