Pulmonary hypertension

Patient presented with dyspnea.

Patient Data

Gender: Female

Enlarged pulmonary arteries, pruning of peripheral pulmonary vessels and cardiomegaly.

Case Discussion


Patient presented with dyspnea also symptoms and signs of elevated right heart pressures. A CT was done to confirm diagnosis - the pulmonary trunk measured 4.5 cm. 

Pulmonary hypertension may be primary or secondary in nature. Parenchymal lung disease is often responsible in secondary cases. CT is invaluable in the workup of these patients.
