Sialolithiasis - submandibular gland

Presentation

C/o Recurrent swelling in left submandibular region during meals - 6 mths

Patient Data

Age: 25 yrs
Gender: Female
Ultrasound

A calculus is noted at origin of left submandibular duct.

Intraglandular ducts are dilated.

Left gland itself shows normal echopattern, size and vascularity in comparision to asymptomatic gland.

Case Discussion

Sialolithiasis affects submandibular gland most commonly.
