Incidental finding on CT chest to investigate right rib lesion

Corticated round defect (arrow) in the distal sternum filled with fat.

Case Discussion

Congenital bony defects of the sternum are uncommon but well recognized. They are of no significance but might be useful as an identifying feature in anthropological analysis.
