A large, infiltrating, enhanced mass is seen involving the entire tongue base and invading the floor of the mouth anteriorly, filling the vallecula and abutting the superior surface of the epiglottis posteriorly.
The pre-epiglottic fat is clear.
There are bilateral enlarged levels II & III necrotic lymph nodes.
Case Discussion
cT4 N2c tongue base tumor.
Histology from biopsy: Moderate to poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
