Constrictive pericarditis

Discussion:

CT features are suggestive of decompensated heart failure with the development of anasarca. This may be secondary to calcific constrictive pericarditis.

Constrictive pericarditis is caracterised by calcific constrictive thickening of the pericardium in the presence of symptoms of diastolic dysfunction.

Fixed both lung volumes and obliteration of both costophrenic angles over one year are suggestive of lung entrapment.
