Case Discussion

Postoperative CT of a patient who underwent abdominal incision, recording the presence of ossification. It is a self-limiting process, though some do follow up imaging to demonstrate change in size as well.

Heterotopic ossifications are common (about 25%) mostly following anterior abdominal wall incisions (midline linea alba 75%) (upper incisions 77%).
