T2FS sequence shows increased signal in a short segment of sigmoid colon as well as increased signal in the perisigmoid mesenteries, compatible with inflammatory change. The signal change is centered around an ovoid signal void, compatible with a diverticulum.
T1W sequence shows sigmoid and perisigmoid inflammatory changes (e.g. hypointense stranding) with better delineation of the diverticulum than on the T2FS sequence.
