Case Discussion
Unicompartmental or partial knee replacement is performed on patients with single-compartment osteoarthritis. It is not preferred for patients with inflammatory or rheumatoid joint disease. Its advantage over total knee replacement is:
smaller incision so quicker post-operative recovery
less intra-operative blood loss
quicker rehab due to less soft tissue damage
