There is a complex mass based within the right cerebellar-pontine angle, with widening of the right internal auditory canal, involvement of both cochlear and vestibular branches of CN VIII.
Coronal T2 fat sat image nicely depicts mass about right CN VIII sheath.
The mass exhibits intense heterogeneous enhancement post gadolinium.
Incidental arachnoid granulation in the right transverse sinus.
Case Discussion
An acoustic neuroma (also known as a vestibular schwannoma) its a benign tumor originating from the nerve sheath of cranial nerve VIII, which may affect both the cochlear and vestibular branches, with auditory and equilibrium implications.
