Sigmoid colon diverticulum with surrounding echogenic fat and a sliver of hypoechoic fluid. The sigmoid wall at the site of inflammatory fat is thickened, measuring up to 0.7cm. No fluid collection.
Case Discussion
Combination of findings and the clinical picture are consistent with acute diverticulitis involving the sigmoid colon.
