Bipartite patella with edema adjacent to the synchondrosis. Remainder of the examination is unremarkable.
Case Discussion
Bipartite patellas are common and the vast majority are asymptomatic. Rarely, they can be a cause of anterior knee pain. Edema adjacent to the synchondrosis is a sign of a symptomatic bipartite patella and no alternative for anterior knee pain can be seen in this patient.
