Presentation

Dyspnea

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Female
ct

Complete absence of the left bronchus, left lung parenchyma and left pulmonary artery.
Patent duct arteriosus is noted from the main pulmonary trunk.
The single hyper-expanded right lung is seen showing transthoracic herniation to the left side. No air space consolidation, nodule or ground-glass opacities, atelectasis, or fibrosis.
There is no evidence of pleural thickening or effusion. No pneumothorax.

Case Discussion

Complete absence of left lung left bronchus and left pulmonary artery. The features are of left side lung agenesis (type I according to Boyden classification).
