Info

An anatomical variant is identified at the level of the right fourth rib, characterized by a bifurcation of its bony course into two parallel, well-defined branches, with no signs of abnormal bone consolidation or alterations in its cortical structure.

There is no evidence of pleuropulmonary alterations. The lungs and pleural spaces appear clear with no signs of consolidation, effusion, or pneumothorax.

Case Discussion

The presence of a bifid rib, as observed in the right fourth rib, is a benign anatomical variant. This condition is characterized by the division of the rib into two distinct segments and is typically asymptomatic, with no clinical significance in most cases. There are no associated abnormalities such as abnormal bone consolidation or cortical alterations detected.

This variant does not typically require treatment or further investigation unless associated with symptomatic or other skeletal abnormalities.
