Developmental dysplasia of the hip - Graf type IIa

Presentation

Unequal thigh creases

Patient Data

Age: 2 months

Both hips are enlocated. The alpha angle on the right measures 62 degrees and the alpha angle on the left measures 57 degrees.

Findings are consitent with Graf type I right hip and Graf IIa left hip.

Case Discussion

Patient was immediately referred to Orthopedic hip clinic where a Pavlik harness was applied.

It is important that the anatomic checklist is applied at every ultrasound examination, for the measurements to be reproducible, as recommended by R Graf.
