Bilateral symmetrical T1 hyperintense signal (early calcification) in basal ganglia, taking the shape of caudate and lentiform nuclei.
Case Discussion
Fahr's disease is a rarer differential of a common entity- basal ganglia calcification. Characteristic MR pattern of a larger zone of involvement, and clinical feature of choreo-athetoid movement in young patient may help in diagnosis.
