Presentation
Vomiting and abdominal distention.
Patient Data

Abdominal radiograph demonstrates a suspicious lack of gas in the left, central and pelvic regions of the abdomen suggesting the presence of a mass.

Ultrasound reveals tubular mass in the left flank extending into the left side of the pelvis. On cross-section a target sign is seen consistent with intussusception of bowel into the descending colon and sigmoid. There is also a small amount of free intraperitoneal fluid present.

Therapeutic air enema was performed which neatly reduced the intussuscepted bowel.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates some of the features and treatment of intussusception.
