Presentation

Follow-up of prior pituitary microadenoma.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

In the right quadrigeminal cistern an about 9 mm strikingly T1 hyperintense lesion is visible with peripheral signal loss due to chemical shift.

Multiple anatomic variations of the intracranial arteries:

  • fetal origin of the left posterior cerebral artery
  • fenestrated anterior communciating artery
  • accessory anterior cerebral artery

Thin, hypoplastic pituitary compared to age group and gender. 

Dynamic postcontrast pituitary sequences normal (not shown).
