Round atelectasis

Circumscribed left-sided subpleural atelectasis pulling the adjacent bronchovascular bundles (comet tail appearance). Note is also made of the associated pleural thickening (and possibly a small amount of effusion).

CT of the chest demonstrates round atelectasis in the left base with a comet tail sign.
