Curvilinear opacity is seen in the right hemithorax extending from the right hilum inferiorly to the right hemidiaphragm. There is dilatation of the right ventricle and suggestion of right lung hypoplasia with rightward mediastinal deviation.

There is right lung hypoplasia.

There are findings of partial anomalous pulmonary venous return with a prominent right lower lung pulmonary vein draining into the inferior vena cava at the level of the right hepatic vein. Prominent veins are anastomosing between the right and middle hepatic veins possibly reflecting shunting.

Case Discussion

This was an incidental case of scimitar syndrome, as evidenced by partial anomalous pulmonary venous return with the prominent right lower lung pulmonary vein draining into the inferior vena cava.
