Sonoelastography of cervical lymph nodes

Bilateral neck swelling, right greater than left.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Neck ultrasound, including sonoelastography

B-Mode ultrasound of cervical lymph node: non-enlarged cervical lymph node measuring
6 mm short axis, regular border, preserved hyperechoic hilum, hypoechoic parenchyma.

Colour Doppler ultrasound: normal hilar vascularity. 

Colour elastogram of the same lymph node gives pattern 2 elastography score and strain ratio is 1.25.

Case Discussion

Final histopathological diagnosis is chronic non-specific lymphadenitis.
