Traumatic pneumothorax

Patient comes to the emergency department with a history of traffic accident

Patient Data

Age: 50

CT Chest

Computed tomography shows a large pneumothorax (likley haemopneumothorax) secondary to multiple fractures of the right chest wall. In both lungs is also possible to see areas of pulmonary haemorrhage

Case Discussion

This case shows the multiple injuries that may suffer a polytraumatized patient.
