Overinflation of the left lung:

  • increased volume with marked mediastinal shift and compression of the right lung

  • hypertransradiant left lung and anterior herniation

Case Discussion

Xray and CT demonstrate typical findings of congenital lobar emphysema in a child. The currently preferred term is congenital lobar overinflation.
