Referral for tertiary review at 34 weeks of gestation.

Bilaterally enlarged, echogenic kidneys with loss of corticomedullary differentiation and multiple tiny cystic spaces. Although very abnormal in appearance, the kidneys maintain their reniform shape. Note also the presence of oligohydramnios.

The ultrasound performed shortly after birth shows essentially the same features as the antenatal ultrasound, with enlarged echogenic kidneys, without corticomedullary differentiation. No hepatic or biliary tree abnormality identified (not shown).
Case Discussion
Pre and postnatal appearance in a case of autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease, associated with oligohydramnios.
